Synopsis

Twelve years before the start of the series, the Nine-Tailed Demon Foxattacked Konohagakure, destroying much of the village and taking many lives. The leader of Konoha, the Fourth Hokage sacrificed his life to seal the Nine-Tails into a newborn, Naruto Uzumaki. Orphaned as a result of the Nine-Tails, Naruto grew up shunned by the villagers, who viewed him as the Nine-Tails himself, and the children, who felt the same animosity towards Naruto as their parents did. In his thirst to be acknowledged, Naruto vowed he would one day be the greatest Hokage the village had ever seen.
The five Kage look on in shock as Madara unleashes his Susanoo. After stabilising the construct, Tsunadequestions whether her grandfather really fought against someone who was so much stronger than five Kage put together. Madara responds by saying that Hashirama was the only one who could defeat him and then states that it was a good thing that he wasn't here as the extent of damage to the surrounding landscape would be on a much smaller scale as he sends the Kage flying with one swing from his sword — destroying the mountain range behind him in the process. Realising his full power, Ōnoki questions whether or not Madara had gone easy on him and Mū in the past, to which Madara states that why an adult should fight seriously against children. As the Kage stand to face Madara nonetheless, Ōnoki then states that they would not back down now, causing Madara to resolve himself to crushing their beliefs. Elsewhere, Itachi then commands Kabuto to use the hand seals he had just stated to end the Impure World Reincarnation. Sasuke uses this time to state his resolve to Itachi and that he will destroy the village because of what it did to him before bidding farewell to Itachi. As the technique is released, the reincarnated shinobi from all-over the battlefield begin to deconstruct. Upon seeing this, a batteredNaruto and B thanks Itachi and uses it as motivation to wrap things up with Tobi as well. Before being completely decommissioned, Itachi heads towards his little brother with his hand outstretched, stating that he could still make it.
Suigetsu and Jūgo escape from their imprisonment within the Land of Irondue to weakened security caused by the mobilisation of forces for the war. While searching for his sword, Suigetsu educates Jūgo on the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, including previous generation of members, and their swords. Meanwhile, the Third Division battles the reincarnated swordsmen, and Kakashi formulates a plan that employs Santa Yamanaka, Ensui Nara, and Maki from his division. Launching the plan of action, Kakashi nearly hitsZabuza, but his attack is intercepted by Haku who uses himself as a shield. Zabuza cuts through Haku to get to Kakashi, but he is able to narrowly avoid the full force of Zabuza's attack suffering only a minor wound on his abdomen. After Haku is trapped and sealed, Kakashi attacks once again and he and Zabuza strike simultaneously, but Kakashi manages to evade the great blade and pierce Zabuza. Zabuza and Haku are then captured and restrained. With this Kakashi commandeers the Kubikiribōchō and declaring that he was going to unleash hell on the enemy forces. Elsewhere, the Second Division continues to fight the White Zetsu Armyclones who erupted from underground and Kitsuchi is informed that thousands of the enemy forces had passed them underground. While on another battlefield, Gaaradiscovers one of the enemy reincarnated shinobi.
